About me...
Growing up, I could not have predicted that I’d be living in California and working in the film industry. Art has always been a huge part of my life.
Back in 2006, I watched a behind the scenes segment on an episode of “Friends”. They interviewed the property master, Marjorie Coster, and as she so elegantly described what it was like building the props—from conception to completion—I knew at that moment I wanted to follow in her footsteps. Being a Property Master brings all of my interests and strengths of research, arts, and crafts into one.
Later that year, I volunteered at the 2006 CineVegas Film Festival where I met some incredibly talented people who would soon become close friends. Together in 2007, we went to Sundance Film Festival where I continued making connections while learning about the festival circuit-something I am incredibly proud to be part of as I continue to work the Sundance Festival each year. It was there in my first year at Sundance where I had the opportunity to be put in touch with a Production Designer who gave me my first feature prop gig, “Dancing on a Dry Salt Lake”. The experience was eye-opening, to say the least. But I left with a strong sense of what the job entails and since then, I’ve learned more with every new project and have fully fallen in love with everything the Art Department has to offer.
Having a paintbrush in my hand at three in the morning made me realize with a certain clarity that this is where I want to be and this is what I want to do. I truly believe that my hard work and adaptability will determine my success in the field I have become so passionate about.
